SUPPORTING WIDOWS, ORPHANS & DIVORCEES

The CHERYL & VICTOR AZRAK LEV HATIKVAH‍ ‍is a division powered by the SBH Client Division that supports widows, orphans and divorcees through the aftermath and healing process of their loss. By using SBH’s ‘one-stop’ holistic approach, we utilize the organization’s large variety of programs, services and resources to create a comprehensive plan for each individual. With a deep sense of empathy, compassion and the utmost respect, we aim to provide every client with a heart full of hope -Lev Hatikvah- for the future.

How it Works?

Lev Hatikvah provides individualized resources to every client, including but not limited to several of our programs.

  • Clients are matched with a team that identifies and addresses financial, emotional, medical and social needs.

  • Together, with the client, they develop and execute a personalized action plan aimed at helping the family achieve self-sufficiency and stability.

  • Support includes counseling, financial assistance, access to SBH’s programs and referrals to outside agencies

  • Some of the programs included:

  • Rent and utility assistance for struggling families

  • Grocery stipends and food delivery through SBH’s Food Division

  • Therapy and grief counseling for parents and children

  • Tutoring, babysitting and homework help for children

  • Emergency aid for urgent needs like clothing, beds or transportation

  • Holiday and back-to-school packages

  • Specialty holiday meals for families who would otherwise go without

Oversight & Impact

  • All assistance is thoughtfully reviewed through a case management process

  • Captains and social workers communicate regularly to ensure support translates into long-term impact
